About Solid Waste Permits
Guam's Solid Waste Management Act (10 GCA Chapter 51) states "The
Administrator is authorized and directed to issue permits for all collectors, operators and solid waste management facilities, their design, operation, maintenance, substantial alteration, modification or enlargement." Section 51102(45) defines solid waste management facilities as "any facility, or any machinery, equipment, vehicles, structures or any part of accessories thereof installed or acquired for the primary purpose of: collection, transportation, storage, recycling, processing or disposal of solid waste."
Pursuant to the Solid Waste Management Act, Guam EPA's Solid Waste Management Program has established permit programs for the collection, transfer, storage, or processing of solid waste. To be considered complete, applications must include the appropriate application fee. Application Fees are noted in each permit application and must be paid for by check or money order payable to Treasurer of Guam c/o Guam EPA.
Availability of Information to the Public and Confidential Treatment of Information
Information contained in the permit application will, upon request, be made available to the public for inspection and copying. If sources wish to request confidential treatment for business information, such information should be submitted separately to Guam EPA, along with a claim of confidentiality.
